I always knew growing up

that all the men in Dad's family

were silversmiths, or jewellers, or both.
(What I didn't know was that some of the women were too.)

dad was an only child of parents

who left their home country

and came to America.

and here they were silversmiths, and jewellers.

and assayers, as they had always been back in England.
